Miles M.20

The Miles M.20 was a British fighter aircraft manufacturer Miles Aircraft in World War II. The hunter was designed for easy manufacturing. This meant, for example, fixed gear, no hydraulic components and the use of standard components from other Miles aircraft, as well as the extensive use of wood. The flight performance should still be competitive. The M.20 was designed, built and flown in 67 days. The first flight took place on 14 September 1940.

The Miles M.20 was about 800-1000 kg heavier than the Bf 109 and the Supermarine Spitfire and, despite the use of an engine with two speed loaders slower than these two types of aircraft, which had only one entrance - loader. The flight performance of the M.20 remained well below expectations and the Miles M.20 did not go into mass production.
