Military order

Military Orders are donated by princes Medal for military successes and achievements that draw a recording in a medieval order of knights, inspired religious community by themselves and partly for the mortgaged awardees additional privileges (for example, honorarium, tax abatement ) brought with them.

Principle

Awarded the Order of officers was only generally for any military act that " without responsibility could be omitted or the testimony of rare determination, courage and wisdom ". The Order of the chapter examined the deeds of the candidates.

Military Order included several classes that were associated with corresponding ranks and officer ranks. This corresponded to the classification of the classification according to generals, staff officers and junior officers. This basic model is inspired by the Sun King Louis XIV and was in the 1693 donated Ordre royal et militaire de Saint -Louis for military merit for the first time use:

  • General of the Order - Grand Cross - the highest level
  • Ordenskomtur - Commander's Cross - mid level
  • Teutonic Knights - Knight's Cross - Lower Level

Further subdivisions could be formed by combinations of the respective cross with stars, swords and the like.
