Military Ordinariate of Korea

The Korean Military Ordinariate is the Military Ordinariate North and South Korea, which is in charge of the Korean People's Army (North Korea ) and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea ( South Korea). Due to the policy of isolation of North Korea is limited but in fact the responsibility of the Ordinariate to the South Korean area.

History

The Korean Military Ordinariate cared for members of the armed forces of the country, Catholic religious affiliation, pastoral. It was initially built by Pope John Paul II on 22 November 1983 as Military Vicariate; on 23 October 1989 it was Military Ordinariate. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and South Korea is the seat of the Military Ordinariate in Seoul.
