Millwright

Millwright is an ancient craft and in the 1950s in the Federal Republic of Germany was still training occupation before he became merged in the reorganization of the machine builder. Millwright were involved in the construction and maintenance of mills.

The millwright worked with wood, stone and iron. A frequent work with the material stone was re-sharpening millstones at the mill Bille, a hammer, in the context of maintenance. With wood as a material of the millwright had also to do often, such as when Wasserradwelle, drive and interior design were to create the mill. For this reason, the profession was often exercised by carpenters. Metal parts were used for shafts and fittings.
