Edward Milton " Milt " Gantenbein ( born May 31, 1909 in New Albin, Iowa, USA, † December 18, 1988 in Sacramento, California ) was an American American football player. He played in the National Football League ( NFL) with the Green Bay Packers as an end.

Playing career

Gantenbein visited in La Crosse, Wisconsin high school and studied for his degree at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. In 1931 he received a contract with the trained by Curly Lambeau Green Bay Packers, where he was teammates of LaVern Dilweg and quarterback Arnie Herber. In his first year won Gantenbein with his team the NFL Championship Game. In 1936, the Packers moved to the NFL a championship game and beat the Boston Redskins there with 21:6. In the following game year Gantenbein led his team again in the NFL playoff. The game against the New York Giants, however, was lost with 17:3. 1939 the Packers were able to win nine of their 11 games. Gantenbein 's team moved again in the NFL playoff. Opponents were once again the New York Giants, who were beaten this time by 27-0. 1940 ended Gantenbein his career.

Honors

Gantenbein played in the 1939 Pro Bowl and is a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Three times Gantenbein was selected to the All- Pro.

Coaching career

Gantenbein was coach at Manhattan College after his career. However, the College presented the 1942 game mode. Gantenbein then worked in the insurance industry.
