Milton Reid

Milton Rutherford Reid ( born April 29, 1917 in India, † 1982) was an actor and wrestler. He participated in smaller roles in several James Bond films.

Life and work

Reid began his career as a wrestler and celebrated in wrestling as "The Mighty Chung " successes. With about 20 years Reid began a film career. His first notable role in the series Ivanhoe, in the later Roger Moore starred. Reid held up as an actor in the film industry, as he was the ideal person for strange figures again and again by his one hand threatening aura, the other by his transfigured looks. Experts believe that Reid suffered from the extremely rare Turner 's syndrome, the symptoms of which are said to have influenced his appearance.

He had roles in, among others, The demon with bloody hands, ferry to Hong Kong, Our Man in Havana, The Terror of the Tongs. In the James Bond film Dr. No James Bond chases he played a henchman on Crab Key. When it came in the film Goldfinger, to occupy the role of Oddjob, Reid applied a second time for a Bond movie, but it was rejected. Ringer and fellow actor Harold Sakata won the role. His next role in a Bond film had Reid in 1967 in Casino Royale.

Then Reid stepped in other films together on many other Bond veterans. He starred alongside Diana Rigg and Telly Savalas in killer GmbH and starred in The Return of Dr. Phibes, in the Caroline Munro participates. More film Reids were The Pink Panther returns Caprona - The forgotten land and no. 1 of the Secret Service. His brief appearances at Bond fell at the moviegoers into oblivion, but Reid did with The Spy Who Loved Me back to mind: He played Sandor, the henchmen of the biter. So lay between the first and last appearance in a Bond film 15 years. Milton Reid died in 1982 of a heart attack.
