Min Hyun-sik

Min Hyun -sik ( born October 21, 1946) is a South Korean architect who is mainly active in South Korea. He designed several corporate and residential buildings, school and university buildings, hospitals, two churches and other buildings.

Life and work

Min studied architecture at Seoul National University and at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. From 1972 to 1974 he worked in the architectural office space and thereafter to 1975 architectural group ' JANG '. From 1980 on, he spent 12 years until 1992, in urban planning and architecture firm One. Then he sat four years his ' Architecture Research Laboratory Min Hyun -sik ' ago and was subsequently to 1997, chairman and advisor of ' KIOHUN ', the successor of the laboratory. He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Korea National University of Arts in 2002 and held the post until 2004. 2006 he became an honorary member of FAIA ( Honorary Fellowship of the AIA) Currently he is a professor at the Korean National University of Arts and is a consultant (primary advisor) for the architectural firm KIOHUN Architects and Associates operates. In 2002 he designed with his colleague Lee Min-ah at the Venice Biennale the Korean Pavilion.
