Mindoro climbing rat

The Mindoro Rat ( Anonymomys mindorensis ) is a little-known rodent in the Philippine island of Mindoro.

All specimens were seen on the slopes of ilong peak in the northeast of the island. They had a body length of about 12 centimeters, were added about 20 inches tail length. They were on the upper side light brown and whitish. The coat was spiny- setose, the tail was wearing a tassel. Externally similar to the Mindoro Rat a white-bellied rat ( genus Niviventer ), but is anatomically distinguished by a shorter snout and large teeth in relation to this.

The Mindoro rat is not closely related to other Philippine Altweltmäusen, but forms with some other Southeast Asian species Dacnomys group.
