Miniaturized satellite

A small satellite is a satellite with a mass of up to 500 kilograms.

In Europe, the construction of such research satellite from the Student Space Exploration and Technology Initiative is funded.

The small satellites are divided into:

• Minisatellite ( 100-500 kg)
• Microsatellite (10-100 kg)
• Nanosatellite (1-10 kg) - about: CubeSat
• Picosatellites ( 0.1-1 kg)
• Femtosatelliten (<0.1 kg).
