Minisatellite

As a minisatellite, minisatellite DNA or VNTRs (variable number tandem repeats ) are portions in the genetics of the DNA referred to in the genome, consisting of tandem repeats of a short -like (about 10 to 100 nucleotides long ) DNA sequence. Unlike other satellite DNAs, the number of repeats is significantly less it is typically from five to 50 repetitions. These repeats are also highly variable: Incorrect storage assembly at the Crossing -over during meiotic recombination, many different alleles may form, each consisting of a different number of repetitions. Every man therefore has a very specific composition of these alleles.
