Ministry of Housing and Construction

The Ministry of Construction and Housing (Hebrew משרד הבינוי והשיכון, Misrad HaBinui VeHaShikhun, English Ministry of Housing and Construction) is a ministry in the Israeli cabinet. After the elections on August 15, 1961 Fifth Knesset, the Ministry was re-created in the coalition negotiations with the new government under David Ben- Gurion as prime minister. First Minister was on November 2, 1961 Georg Joseph valley of the party Mifleget Poale Eretz Yisrael. After his death Yosef Almogi took over on 30 October 1962, the ministerial office. In the meantime, David Ben- Gurion was provisionally minister.

Until the government of Menachem Begin as prime minister, it was used as the Ministry of Housing (English Ministery of Housing ) and are under Gideon Patt in Ministry of Construction and Housing (English Minister of Housing and Construction) renamed on 20 June 1977. Under the run of Shimon Peres as Prime Minister Government on 10 October 1983 with Moshe Katzav ( Likud ) for the first time a Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing appointed. Following the resignation of Eli Ben- Menachem ( Avodah ) from the government of Ariel Sharon on 23 November 2005, the Office of the Deputy Minister has not been filled.

Since 18 March 2013, Uri Ariel of the party HaBajit haJehudi in the Netanyahu government ministers.
