Minokamo, Gifu
Minokamo (Japanese美浓 加 茂 市, -shi) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Gifu.
Minokamo has the largest population of Brazilians in Japan. With its own Brazilian schools, sports teams and grocery stores a Latin American influence in the city is visible. Nevertheless, Minokamo not very different from other Japanese cities, as both parts of the population have not mixed and even larger festivals such as the Brazilian Carnival to remain relatively unnoticed.
History
The city Minokamo was founded on April 1, 1954.
Geography
Minokamo is located east of Gifu and north of Nagoya. The river Kiso flows through the city from the southeast to the southwest.
