Minuscule 98

Minuscule 98 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 266 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 222 parchment leaves ( 21.5 × 165 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 11th century. It is complete.

Description

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels. It was written one column with 25 rows. The manuscript contains lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonianische portions (not the Eusebischen canon ), lectionary markings, signatures, στιχοι and images.

Text

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Kurt Aland placed it in Category V.

History

Edward Daniel Clarke (1769-1822) brought this manuscript from the east England.

It was by an unknown person for Johann Martin Augustin Scholz collated ( in Matthew 6, 9, 10, Mark 5, 6, Luke 4, 5, 6).

The Code can be found in the Bodleian Library in Oxford (ED Clarke 5).
