Miodio

Miodio (or Mi Odio ) is an Italian and Sammarinese band, consisting of the members Nicola Della Valle ( vocals), Paola Macina (guitar ), Andrea Marco Pollice, called " Polly " (bass and programming), Francesco Sancisi (Keyboard and Programming) and Alessandro Gobbi (drums). The band was founded in 2002. Three of the band members are Italian, the other two from San Marino.

Band History

In 2006, Miodio on their first EP Miodio which contained five tracks and was produced by the record label Acanto that belongs to the producer and composer Andrea Felli. In 2007, she signed an exclusive contract with the record label Opera Prima and published there first single It's Ok that was played on over one hundred local radio stations. The song is also included on the soundtrack of the film Il Soffio dell'Anima.

Miodio represented San Marino in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia, with her song Complice. It was the first participation of San Marino in the competition. The band was selected in a national qualifying round among a total of 50 applicants by a seven- member expert jury of the competition transmitted Sammarinese TV station SMRTV had compiled. Miodio reached in the first semifinal of the ESC on 20 May 2008 with just five points last among 19 semi-final participants and could not therefore qualify for the 24 May 2008 held the final.

The band takes time on her first album, which will contain eleven tracks and released in summer 2008.

Prices

Miodio won the 17th San Marino Festival and the prize "Viva Music" and "Best Original Song " at the Art Festival in Bologna in 2006. They represented San Marino at the 12th Biennial of Young Artists in Europe in Naples, where the band produced and turned a self- 30 - minute short film showed the was the recognition of the jury.
