Miragoâne

Miragoâne is a Haitian community in the department of Nippes on the Tiburon Peninsula in Haiti. Miragoâne is its capital. It lies mostly on the north coast of the peninsula in the southwest of Hispaniola. Miragoâne had before the earthquake of 2010 89.202 inhabitants (2003 ). One kilometer km south of the town there is a freshwater lake.

Economy

From the harbor earlier coffee, fruits and bauxite were (until 1985 by Reynolds Metals) exported and used in the trade in used goods from the U.S..
