Miřetice (Chrudim District)

Miřetice ( German Miřetitz, since 1939 Mirschetitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north of Hlinsko and belongs to Okres Chrudim.

Geography

Miřetice is located in the northeast of the Iron Mountains, between the valleys of the streams Ležák and Oběšinka.

Neighboring towns are Bosov, Holci and Račany in the north, and Havlovice Dubová in the northeast, Dachov in the east, in the southeast Tisovec, Paseky Nouzov and Včelákov in the south, Majlant the southwest, Cekov in the west and Švihov in the northwest.

History

Miřetice was the transition from the 12th to the 13th century during the colonization of the Iron Mountains of the monastery Podlažice. The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1325 as the property of CHOTEBOR of Miřetice. In Miřetice a fortress existed which was the seat of the noble family of the same name. 1650 the village came to power Přestavlky and remained with her ​​until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848. The owners changed frequently and in the 18th century acquired Johann Adam Auersperg of the place. 1798 belonged to the dominion Přestavlky the villages Miřetice, Dachov, Cekov, Stan, Srní and Stičany. During the period of German occupation, the Gestapo determined after the assassination of the Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich in lagers a hideout of Czechoslovak paratroopers.
