Miriam Meckel

Miriam Meckel ( born July 18, 1967 in Hilden ) is a German communication scientist. She is a journalist and director of the Institute for Media and Communication Management at the University of St. Gallen.

Life

Miriam Meckel's father, a theologian who was headmaster of Annette von Droste- Gymnasium in Dusseldorf -Benrath. After her high school she studied from 1986 to 1993 in Münster and Taipei, Media and Communication Studies, Sinology, Political Science and Law. Work

Policy

From March 2001 to October 2002 Meckel was Secretary of State for Media and Government Spokesperson of Wolfgang Clement in North Rhine -Westphalia. Miriam Meckel is a member of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Science ( DGPuK ) and the International Communication Association (ICA ). She is board member of Message, an international journal of Journalism, and the Institute for the Advancement Young Journalists ( IfP ). As a member of the international jury of the Development Gateway Foundation at the World Bank, it has the Development Gateway Award ( Petersberg Prize ) co-developed.

Miriam Meckel involved in the Initiative New Social Market Economy with the aim of " Ludwig Erhard teaching adapted to the current time."

Since September 2007 she has been member of the scientific advisory board of the German Investor Relations Association eV ( DIRK ).
