Mirko Gashi

Mirko Gashi (* 1939, † 1995) attended a journalism school and worked as a teacher, actor and lecturer.

He translated poems into Serbo-Croatian Albanian poet. As a poet he was one of the most striking phenomena of Kosovo's literary scene. Where his colleagues the solid, resistant, has been handed sang ( mountain, rock ... ), he preferred his metaphors in the Soft, Flowing, Moving Water, river and sea. And even if it the " national issue " tried, as in the poem " Populus Illiricus ", then with a fine irony in place of exuberant patriotic pathos.

Mirko Gashi is like Anton Pashku and Azem Shkreli a Frühverstorbener, who coined the Kosovar literature beyond his time.
