Miron Chodakowski

Mirosław Miron Chodakowski ( born October 21, 1957 in Białystok, Poland, † April 10, 2010 in Smolensk, Russia) was archbishop of the Polish Orthodox Church in Poland and Military Ordinary of the Polish armed forces.

Life

Miron Chodakowski occurred in 1972 in the Orthodox seminary in Warsaw. After the end of his theological training in 1976 he studied at the Orthodox monastery in Jabłeczna. On 17 December 1978 he made ​​his first vows. On 25 December 1978, the diaconate took place. After the completion of his studies at the Christian Theological Academy ( ChAT ) he received on 15 February 1979, the ordination as a monk priest.

On April 10, 2010 Chodakowski belonged to a Polish delegation headed by President Lech Kaczyński, who was to travel on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Katyn massacre to the memorial to Russia. Posthumously Chodakowski was awarded on 16 April 2010 the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta ( Krzyż Komandorski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski ).
