Mischelbach, about in the forest castle Sand Sea

Mischelbach is a municipality of the market Plein field in the Middle Franconian district of Wissembourg -Gunzenhausen. The place is located three kilometers east of the village core Plein field at an altitude of around 390 meters and has about 400 inhabitants.

By Mischelbach flows Iglseebach. North of the village rises the red trench ( Swabian Rezat ).

Attractions

In Mischelbach is the round fortress castle sand lake, which was built on the 455 meter high book Leite.

The Catholic St.Ottokirche was built in 1922. The nave is decorated in baroque similar style. The church tower was equipped with a bell from 1886. In 1949 the church was enlarged.

History

1264 Mischelbach was first mentioned. In 1302 it was sold to the diocese of Eichstätt and in 1802 it was Bavarian.

Until the municipal reform in Bavaria Mischelbach was an independent municipality with the districts Heinz mill Kemnathen, small vineyard, castle Sand Sea and Utzenmühle. In 1972, the municipality decided to volunteer to join the community Plein field. This annexation took effect on 1 July 1972.
