Miss Hungary

Miss Hungary is a national beauty pageant for unmarried women in Hungary, which has been held since the 1920s under the name Miss Hungaria and Miss Magyarország. (Also the name of Miss Danube was used for winners - at least abroad).

From the early winners Böske Simon 1929 second Miss Europe, and Mary Tasnady worked as an actress in Austrian and German films.

After a long interruption caused by the Second World War and the rule of communism, the event in the 1980s was revived. Since then, the English name Miss Hungary in addition to the Hungarian Magyarország Szépe is in use.

In 1992, the contest Miss Universe Hungary ( and a corresponding organization ) was launched. 1996, formed a separate competition for the Miss World Hungary. Is not difficult to see, run the winners of Miss Universe or Miss World
