Mitchell Ryan

Mitchell " Mitch " Ryan ( born January 11, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky ) is an American actor.

Life

Ryan grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the Korean War, he went to the Barter Theatre in Abington ( Virginia). There he learned the Theatre founder Robert Porterfield, with whom in 1958 he made ​​his debut in the film Thunder Road. From 1966 to 1967 Mitch Ryan was part of the original cast of the show Dark Shadows. In 107 episodes, he played the role of Burke Devlin, until he was dismissed in June 1967 because of his alcohol problems from the series and replaced by Anthony George. After numerous roles in films and guest appearances in well-known series, he took over in 1997 the role of Edward Montgomery in Dharma & Greg, by which he was known among other things.

Ryan also played Broadway theaters, in plays such as Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, Medea by Euripides and The Price by Arthur Miller. He is also president of the union for Screen Actors Guild Foundation ( SAG).

Ryan has been married twice and has three children.
