Mithridates I Callinicus

Mithridates I Kallinikos, ancient Greek ο Μιθριδάτης Кαλλίνικος, († 70 BC ) was a king of Armenian descent orontodischer, who lived between the 2nd and 1st century BC. Mithridates was a son and successor of King of Commagene Samos II Before 109 BC, followed him to the throne, married Mithridates the Syrian- Greek Princess Laodice Thea Philadelphus as part of a peace agreement. Mithridates also adopted the Greek culture. Laodice gave birth to the son and future King Antiochus I.. Mithridates died in 70 BC, Antiochus became his successor. This was built for him in the Hierothesion Arsameia on Nymphaios.
