Mitznefet (Israeli military)

The Mitznefet is a camouflage cover for an infantry helmet, which is applicable in the colors green and brown as bush colors and gray -beige in desert colors. The soldiers of the Israeli armed forces are equipped with it since 2006. The purpose of this cover is to break the sharp contour of the head or helmet and to blur with the background. This makes it difficult especially at dusk or darkness snipers and other attackers target acquisition, thus improving the camouflage of the institution of Mitznefets.

The name comes from the same turban was worn by the high priests in the Temple of Jerusalem and wrap means in Hebrew.
