The Mjóifjörður (Eng. " Narrow Fjord" ) is a 18 km long fjord in the region Austurland m east of Iceland, between the Seydisfjörður and the Norðfjörður.

Its greatest width dimension is about 2 km, where it has a significant rejuvenation in the middle. The Mjóifjörður is closely bordered on both sides by steep mountain slopes.

Old connecting roads high above mountain passes, an equestrian trail on the Gagnheiði to Seyðisfjörður, another on the Mjóafjarðarheiði after Fljótsdalshérað.

Like other rural districts Islands records the already small population of the fjord a huge rural exodus.
