Mogens Camre

Mogens NJ Camre ( born March 29, 1936 in Randers ) is a Danish politician. From 1999 to 2009 he was Member of Parliament for the Danish People's Party (DF ) and deputy chairman of the Union for a Europe of Nations. Camre was accused on several occasions of racism.

Life

1961 graduated with a degree in Accounting Camre at the Copenhagen Business School. In 1967 he completed further studies as cand polit ( approximately Master in Political Science ) from the University of Copenhagen.

From 1962 to 1987 Camre was a member of Socialdemokraterne; 1967 to 1968 and 1981 to 1982 he was a member of the National Committee. From 1968 to 1987 he was a member of the Folketing, where he was chairman of the Committee on Environment and planning among others.

From 1967 to 1968 and from 1987 to 1995, he worked as a civil servant for the Danish Ministry of Finance. He was a member of the Tax Tribunal in the years 1974 until 1989. Since 1980 he has worked in different company bodies, including the Board of KTAS ( 1982-1992 ).

Between 1981 and 1982 he was a member of the Danish TUC 's Executive Committee and member of the executive committee of the Labour Movement 's Economic Council. 1985 to 1987 he was on the board of the Danish National Bank. 1995 to 1999 he worked as a financial advisor for the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the European Union.

In the European elections in 1999 Camre moved into the European Parliament for the far-right Danish People's Party (DF ). Here he became deputy chairman of the Union for a Europe of Nations ( UEN). During his time as an MP, he also was a member of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs, the Committee on Budgetary Control, the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. In the European elections in 2004, he was re-elected. He also scored a mandate at the general election in 2007, but to which he renounced in order to complete his term in the European Parliament can. After the European election in 2009 he resigned from the European Parliament.

Camre is married for the third time, his second wife was the writer Vita Andersen. He has seven children, including three with his first two wives and one with the third.
