Mohammad Ali Khan

Mohammad Ali Khan (* 1760, † 1779, Arabic محمد علي خان زند ) was the second Shah of the Zand dynasty, who ruled the Persian Empire from 6 March to 19 June, 1779.

When Karim Khan died in 1779, broke out again struggles for power in Persia. His half-brother Zaki Khan said Mohammad Ali, the second son of Karim Khan - at the same time his son - the second ruler of the Zand dynasty. Soon thereafter, Abol Fath Khan, the elder brother, was appointed co-ruler.

In the same year Mohammed Ali Khan died of a heart attack. In the nearly four months of his reign he achieved very little and could not build on the successes of the Father. His brother was declared on June 19, 1779 for the sole ruler of the Persian Empire.
