Mohammad Farokhmanesh

Mohammad Farokhmanesh (* November 26, 1971 in Shiraz, Iran) is a German film director and producer of Iranian descent.

Career

Director Mohammad Farokhmanesh, born 1971 in Shiraz ( Iran) turned on Iranian Youth Film Institute first short films. From 1995 to 2001 he was a film studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, then two years working as a production consultant.

In 2000, he teamed up with Frank Geiger and Armin Hofmann his own production company brave new work film- productions, with headquarters in Hamburg.

As director and producer he realized far more than twenty documentaries, feature films and short films. In 2004 he received the Gerd Ruge price of the Film Foundation NRW for his feature film debut " Evil Empire". The documentary was nominated for the First Appearance Award ( International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam IDFA ) and for the Golden Key ( Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival ) in 2007 and won the award for " Best Documentary " at the DaKINO International Film Festival ( Bucharest).

Other activities

Active member of the Association Documentary (AG DOK).

2008/2010 operates in the jury of the Human Rights Film Award.

Active fencer and fencing coach in a Hamburg sports club.
