Molly Smitten-Downes

Molly Smitten - Downes ( born April 2, 1987 in Leicestershire ), also simply called Molly, is a British singer- songwriter. She was chosen internally by the BBC to represent their country at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen.

Life

Smitten - Downes studied at Leicester College Access to Music and at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford.

On 18 December 2011 she released her acoustic EP Fly Away with Me She won 2012 in the category " Urban / Pop " at the music competition Live and Unsigned 2013 and received an additional award for Best Song at the The Best Of British Unsigned Music Awards for their song Lost Generation.

On 3 March 2014, the BBC announced that Smitten - Downes will compete in the finals of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014 on May 10 with her self-composed song Children of the Universe.
