Mołtowo

Mołtowo ( German Moltow ) is a village in the urban and rural community Gościno ( United Jestin ) in the powiat Kołobrzeski ( Kolberg ) of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It forms with Skronie a mayor's office.

Geographical location

The village is located in Eastern Pomerania, about 16 kilometers southeast of Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg) and 101 kilometers north-east of the regional capital Szczecin ( Szczecin).

History

Moltow is mentioned in documents of the 14th century. The village an allodial manor of Blankenburg family had been then. After the estate had gone bankrupt in 1766, changed hands several times.

Before 1945, the village belonged to the district Moltow Kolberg- Körlin in the administrative region of Pomerania Pomerania. Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied in May 1945 by the Red Army and then put together with all Pomerania under Polish administration. 2010 lived 152 inhabitants in Mołtowo.

Parish

The Protestant Church of Moltow belonged to the parish of Great Jestin.
