In office Moenchgut -Granitz, located in the municipality Baabe eight communities have joined forces to carry out their administrative business. It is located in the southeast of the island of Rügen in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen. The municipality Zirkow came on 1 January 2005 from the Office Bergen auf Rügen to the Official Moenchgut -Granitz.

The communities of the Office that are in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, live mainly from tourism. The holiday guests especially appreciate the fine sandy beaches, the bathing water quality and climate. Besides tourism, agriculture and fisheries play a role.
