Monika Soćko

Monika Socko ( born Bobrowska; born 24 March 1978 in Warsaw) is a Polish chess player.

She learned to play chess at age five by her father. Her successes in adolescence include a 2nd place in the World Youth Chess Championship U10 in 1988, winning the European Youth Championships U18 in 1996 and a 2nd place at the European Youth Championships U20 1997.

Since 1995, it bears the Grandmaster title of women since 2008, with the men. Your Elo rating is 2451 (as of April 2013) so that it is ranked 38 of the FIDE world ranking of women. Your best Elo rating was 2505 in April 2008. She is the wife of Bartosz Socko, with whom she has three children.

In the Polish Chess Championships Socko won the 1995, 2004, 2008 and 2013 the title. Since 1994 she has participated in nine Chess Olympiads and scored a total of 60.5 points out of 100 matches. In 2002 she came to 10.5 points from 13 games and won the gold medal for the best result on board 3 and a bronze medal with the team. In four European Team Championships for women between 2001 and 2007 it reached 20 points from 29 games, 2005 they won the Polish team for the title. In the team's Women's World Cup 2007 came to 5.5 points from 9 games. In October 2007, she won with the team of Cercle d' Echecs de Monte- Carlo in Kemer the European Cup for teams.

At the European Championships the women she came in 5th place in 2003 and 2007 to 8th place in the years 2004 and 2005, she won the Acropolis tournament in Athens woman. In September 2007 she won the international women's tournament in Baku with 7 points from 9 games. In the Women's World Championship 2008 in Nalchik they retired in the 2nd round with 0.5-1.5 against Hoàng Thanh Trang. In August 2009, she won the open Arctic Chess Challenge in Tromsø with 7 points from 9 games due to better classification ahead of Ray Robson, Marian Petrov and Emanuel Berg.
