Monique Vézina

Monique Vézina, P. C. ( Born July 13, 1935 in Rimouski, Quebec ) is a former Canadian politician of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (PC).

Life

Monique Vézina, who was a professional administrative assistant, in 1976 the credit union manager at Desjardins Group. Then she was in Quebec City until 1978 to 1982 Member of the Supreme Education Council ( Conseil supérieur de l' éducation) and then Vice Chairman of the Board of Motor Insurers ( Régie de l'assurance automobile du Québec ).

She was first elected as a candidate of the Progressive Conservative Party in the general election on September 4, 1984 deputies in the lower house and there advocated up to the general election on 25 October 1993 the constituency Rimouski - Témiscouata.

After the electoral victory of the PC she was appointed on 17 September 1984 by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in his cabinet as Minister for La Francophonie and Minister for External Relations at the Foreign Minister and retained this office until June 29, 1986. Thereafter she was appointed Minister of Supply and Services as well as on August 27, 1987 Minister of State for transport before it was in 1993 Minister of State for Employment and Immigration dated 31 March 1988 to 3 January. At the same time she was between September 15, 1988 and June 24, 1993 Minister of State for Seniors.

Last Monique Vézina was also from 4 January to 24 June again in 1993 Minister for La Francophonie and Minister for External Relations in the Cabinet Mulroney.

After her retirement from the House of Commons and the Government between 1994 and 1997 she was a board member of the Centre for Education and International Cooperation ( Centre d' éducation et for International Cooperation ) in Montreal.
