Monisha Kaltenborn

Monisha Kaltenborn, born Narang ( born May 10, 1971 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India) is an Austrian lawyer, motor sports functionary and team owner. Since 2010 she has been Chief Executive Officer of Sauber Motorsport AG and holds a third of the shares in the company.

Life

Kaltenborn was born in India as Monisha Narang. At the age of eight, she emigrated with her parents from Austria, where already worked her uncle. After finishing school she attended from 1990 to 1995 to study law at the University of Vienna and received the 1996 Master of Laws in International Business Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She first worked at the law firm Gleiss Lutz in Stuttgart, then briefly at Wolf Theiss, and partner in Vienna. In 1998, she joined the Fritz Kaiser Group to Liechtenstein, which was involved in the Formula 1 team Sauber. Kaltenborn was responsible as a lawyer for this commitment. After the Fritz Kaiser Group withdrew from the team, changed Kaltenborn 2000 in the legal department of Sauber and was inducted into the management of the racing team in 2001.

Sauber was in 2006 sold to the car manufacturer BMW, Kaltenborn retained its position in the team, which now BMW Sauber said. At the conclusion of the sixth Concorde Agreement, it played an important role. Once BMW had retired from the team in late 2009 and sold to founder Peter Sauber, it was the beginning of 2010, the Chief Executive Officer Sauber Motorsport AG. In May 2012, Peter Sauber announced that he had Kaltenborn transferred one-third of the team shares. On October 11, Kaltenborn also took over the position of team manager of the Formula 1 team Sauber and is the first team manager in Formula 1

Personal

Monisha Kaltenborn is married to the German lawyer Jens Kaltenborn, whom she met during her time in Stuttgart. They have two children and live in Switzerland.
