Monohull

Monohull is a name for boats that have only one hull. Since this is far the most common design of boats and ships, this term is primarily used when an explicit definition to multihulls is necessary.

Monohull can be built both form- and weight- stable, while the multihulls are dimensionally stable. Most motor boats and dinghies are all dimensionally stable while sailing yachts have a heavy ballast keel and are therefore built a stable weight.
