Monserrate

The Monserrate is a 3152 meter mountain near Bogotá. Together with the Guadalupe ( 3317 meters ), he characterizes the panorama of the Colombian capital. The mountain is located on the territory of the national park Enrique Olaya Herrera.

The church at Monserrate with the shrine of the " Fallen Jesus" ( El Señor Caído ) is a popular pilgrimage destination. The statue of Christ the shrine was made ​​in the 17th century by Pedro de Lugo Albarracin.

On the mountain, a cable railway and a funicular. He is also accessible via a walking path. Various tourist facilities such as restaurants and cafes are located at the summit.
