The Mont des Alouettes is a 232 meter high mountain near Les Herbiers, in the department of Vendée, France.
History
In the 16th century, seven windmills were built on this mountain. Today there are still received three, one of which is functional. On the summit of the mountain is a chapel from the 19th century, which was built by order of Maria Karolina Duchess of Berry.
Sports
The Mont des Alouettes was the aim of the first stage of the Tour de France 2011.
