Mont Vernon is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA.
Name
The municipality is named after the nearby Mount Vernon in Virginia of the first U.S. President George Washington. Why, in contrast to the myriad of other places in the U.S. that are named after the country estate of Washington, the "u" is missing from the name, is not clear.
Culture
The Dating back to 1770 Lamson farm in Mont Vernon is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now a museum open to the public. In September, is celebrated by the city of Lamson Farm Day.
