Montenegro national handball team

The Montenegrin men's national handball team represents Montenegro in international tournaments in men's handball.

On 7 August 2006, the Montenegrin handball association of EHF joined, since there is also the Montenegrin national handball team.

The first coach, Pero Milosevic, the team immediately led to European Handball Championship 2008. 's Qualifying group you won against the teams from Austria, the Netherlands and Finland, in the play-offs, the team won both games against Portugal. After qualifying Ranko Popović took over as coach. In the first game of the Championship Tournament in Norway, the team reached a 25:25 draw against Russia. Despite defeats in the other two group games, this was enough to reach the main round. There you resigned without another point gain.

Only with the World Cup in 2013 Montenegro was able to qualify again for an international championship, this time under coach Zoran Kastratovic. In the group stage of qualifying, the team unbeaten against Latvia and Belgium prevailed, in the play-offs, it turned out surprisingly Sweden. At the World Cup tournament in Spain, all preliminary games were lost.

Also for the European Championship 2014 qualifying Montenegro, including two victories against the German team. In the final round the team was after three defeats last.
