Montes Caucasus

The Montes Caucasus are a rugged mountain range on Earth's Moon, Mare Imbrium between the west and the Mare Serenitatis in the southeast. The diameter is estimated to be 445 km. The mountains are up to 6 km high. The Montes Caucasus - derived from the Caucasus - is derived from the German astronomer Johann Heinrich von Mädler.
