Monticelli d'Ongina

Monticelli d' Ongina is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5392 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia -Romagna. The municipality is situated approximately 18 km east-northeast of Piacenza and about 9 kilometers southwest of Cremona on the Po. Monticelli d' Ongina is immediately adjacent to the province of Cremona.

Economy and Transport

The community is best known for the cultivation of garlic. In the municipality the motorway junction of the Autostrada A21 is for the directions Cremona, Piacenza and the Autostrada A1 direction Bologna and Rome.
