Montmorot
Montmorot is a commune with 3050 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Jura department in the Franche -Comté; it belongs to the district of Lons -le- Saunier and the canton of Lons- le -Saunier -Nord. The town lies on the River Vallière.

- The Count of Montmorot family, descendants of Count Rainald I of Burgundy
- Agustín Fernando Muñoz y Sánchez (1808-1873), morganatic husband of Maria Christina of Sicily, Queen of Spain, was appointed in 1847 by King Louis-Philippe to the Duc de Montmorot. The title is still out in Spain today.
