Mopti is a city in Mali with 114 296 inhabitants and is located about 650 kilometers from Bamako away.
The regional capital of Mopti is located at the confluence of the Bani with the Niger, between Timbuktu and Ségou. The core of Mopti is situated on three islands, which is why she was given the name " Venice of Mali ". Established was the place in the 19th century, now here is the main port of the country. Mopti is the seat of the Diocese of Mopti.
