Moquegua (Region)

The Moquegua Region (Spanish: Región Moquegua, Quechua Muqiwa suyu ) is a region in southern Peru and adjacent to the Pacific. Covering an area of ​​15733.97 km2, 161 533 people ( 2007). The capital is Moquegua.

Geography

The landscape is mountainous and flat to the river valleys of the Tambo and Moquegua. The highest mountain is the volcano Ubinas with a height of 5672 meters.
