Moritz Brasch
Moritz Brasch (* August 18, 1843 Zempelburg / West Prussia; † 14 September 1895 in Leipzig ) was a German philosopher of Jewish origin.
Life
Brasch was one of the philosophers, the philosophy made intelligible through extensive publishing activity. He published, among others, the works of Moses Mendelssohn, Arthur Schopenhauer, and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Especially noteworthy is beyond the three -volume edition of the classic philosophy from the earliest Greek thinkers up to the present.
Brasch was married to the writer Warschalkowitsch Frida ( 1843-1907 ). Their son, Hans (1881-1915) was a lawyer and worked in Leipzig's Jewish community as secretary. He was among the first casualties of the First World War.
