Morristown is a town in Lamoille County of the State of Vermont in the United States with 5,227 inhabitants ( according to the census of 2010). The administration of the municipality is located in the main settlement Morrisville.

The municipality was proclaimed on November 6, 1780 for settlement and awarded 66 settlers led by Moses Morse on August 24, 1781. The first cultivation took place from the spring of 1790; a land owner traveled from Bennington and processed by the existing farm of a friend in the neighboring Hyde Park during the week his country. In the winter he returned to Bennington and took in spring 1791 his family moved, went in the winter but again back to Bennington. As of 1792 followed by other colonists and built together a solid house. Thus, the community was first settled permanently. 1796, the Town was administratively independent. 1798, the first sawmill was built. The community remained largely dominated by agriculture.

From 1872, the Town was opened up by the railway line Lunenburg Maquam, but not changed by their rural expression. After the end of the passenger traffic in 1956 and 1994, the ending of freight transport in Morrisvile Vermont State Route 12, the Vermont State Route 100 and the Airport Morrisville - Stowe State Airport, the main transport links are the Town.
