Morton Haack

Morton Haack ( born June 26, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, † March 22, 1987 in Rome, Italy) was an American costume designer. He is best known for his work on movies such as gold miners Molly, Not so fast, my boy, or Planet of the Apes Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Life and work

Morton Haack, born in 1924 in Los Angeles, began his career as an assistant to costume designer Miles White, before 1958 in the Western Death rides with and directed by Charles F. Haas earned his spurs. In the 1960s he worked as a costume designer for first championship in comedies such as infidelity, happy ending in September, the game with me or Not so fast, my boy, and later for films from other genres such as the science fiction drama Planet of the Apes and return Planet of the Apes or the psychological thriller What's going on Matter with Helen? . For his work he was nominated three times for an Oscar. 1965 for the musical Gold Diggers of Molly Director Charles Walters, 1969 Franklin J. Schaffner's bestseller adaptation of Planet of the Apes on a novel by Pierre Boulle and 1972 for the psychological thriller What's going on Matter with Helen? directed by Curtis Harrington.

On March 22, 1987 Morton Haack died at the age of 62 years in his adopted hometown of Rome.
