Morumbi (district of São Paulo)

Morumbi is a neighborhood of São Paulo, the municipality of Butantã belonging, and is located in the Oeste (west) of the city. The name Morumbi means " green hill " in the Tupi Indian language. Morumbi is located 12-15 km from the city center of São Paulo. It borders the districts of Vila Sônia, Campo Limpo, Vila Andrade, Itaim Bibi, Pinheiros and Butantã. Within morumbis there is the district of Vila Progredior, Caxingüi, Jardim Guedala, Cidade Jardim, Real Parque Vila Morumbi, Paineiras do Morumbi, Jardim Panorama, Jardim Sílvia, Vila Tramontano and Paraisópolis.

In terms of the rankings of real estate brokers Morumbi is also the richest district, despite the favela Paraisópolis. The proximity of some favelas have crime and violence, let rise in comparison to other districts as Higienópolis, and Alto de Pinheiros Jardims.
