Mōryō no Hako

Mōryō no Hako (Japanese魍魎 の 匣, dt "box of the spirits of nature ") is a novel by the Japanese author Natsuhiko Kyogoku of 1995. Starting in 2007, appeared as an adaptation of manga by Aki Shimizu, published in Germany under the title box of Spirits. The work was also adapted as a feature film, original video animation, and anime series.

Content

The Commissioner Shutaro Kiba (木 场 修 太郎) determined in a mysterious series of murders, to be found in the in boxes packed, dismembered girl. Previously, he had already witnessed how the girl Kanako fell under mysterious circumstances before a train. This was then placed in a strange hospital. Together with his staff Fukumoto (福 本), the antiquarian and priests Akihiko " Kyōgokudō " chuzenji (中 禅寺 秋 彦/京 极 堂) and the writer Tatsumi Sekiguchi (关口 巽) Kiba tries to solve the case.

Novel

Mōryō no Hako first appeared in 1995 Kodansha in Japan. There were several editions. The novel forms the second part of Natsuhiko Kyōgokus neunteiligem Hyakki - Yakō cycle.

Manga

The manga adaptation of Aki Shimizu was published from August 2007 to April 2010 in the manga magazine by Kodansha Kai. There was an issue in five anthologies. A French translation appeared in Soleil and an Italian by Star Comics. Tokyopop brings the manga under the title box of Spirits since September 2013 German out in the previous three volumes.

Movie

On 22 December 2007, a film was released in Japanese theaters which has arisen on the basis of the novel. Director Masato Harada was, who also wrote the screenplay.

Anime

On 22 May 2009 appeared with Mōryō no Hako: Hako no yurei no Koto (魍魎 の 匣「中禅寺 敦子 の 事件 簿 箱 の 幽霊 の 事」 ) for the first time an anime adaptation of this material, which was produced at Madhouse.

2010 produced the studio, directed by Ryosuke Nakamura, a 13 - episode anime adaptation of the novel for television. Sadayuki Murai wrote the screenplay and Asako Nishida was responsible for the character design, which was originally designed by Clamp. The artistic director has held Hidetoshi Kaneko. NTV showed the series from October 7 to December 30, 2008, the first Japanese television.

The music of the series was composed by Shusei Murai. The opening credits were welcomed to Lost in Blue, the credits song is Naked Love. Both titles are from Nightmare.
