MOS-controlled thyristor

A MCT, English MOS Controlled Thyristor, is a special thyristor. It is a further immersion coil of the GTO thyristor, but is in contrast with the help of a power MOSFET (English: On- FET): voltage controlled switch and a turn-off MOSFET ( FET Off- English). This combination is electrically easy to control, but more difficult to produce.
